Olga Arlene Ritchie of Chilliwack, passed away at home on November 1, 2002 at the age of 81 years. Arlene was born in Moose Jaw, Sask., July 28, 1921. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Diane and son-in-law Rick of Falun, Alta.; grandchildren, Aaron (Tannis) of Leduc, Alta., Jeremy (Darlene) of Edmonton, Alta., and Karin of Falun, Alta.
A memorial will be held in Alberta. Cremation has already taken place.
Arlene trained as a registered nurse at Moose Jaw Union Hospital, graduating in May 1943. She married her husband Alex in August 1943. They lived in Coronation, and Calgary, Alta., and moved to Chilliwack following Alex’s retirement from the CPR in 1980.
She was a caring, compassionate caregiver for her husband Alex for many years prior to his death in 1991. She enjoyed gardening, her many volunteer activities and was an avid reader. Her interest and pride in her grandchildren, their activities and accomplishments were very evident.
