Odd Ivar Bjerke passed on October 31, 2022. Born February 1, 1925 in Lillehammer Norway to his parents Tor Bjerke and Ragnhild Skurdal.
Ivar Bjerke is survived by 2 children and 4 grandchildren: Donald (son) Brenda (daughter), Rudy, Jennifer, David and Scott (grandchildren). Ivar will be cremated and his remains will be kept in accordance with his wishes. Ivar honorably retired from the Canadian Army to then move on to serve the community in the Public Works department. Upon retirement from Public Works, Ivar's love for the open sea and the Frasier River was enjoyed during his years as a commercial Salmon fisherman.
He spoke fondly of being an engineer. Ivar also enjoyed world travel, golf, Boston terriers and a good beer with friends or family.
He was a proud member of legion 295. He is most known for his helpfulness, calm nature, quick witted humor and pleasant demeanor.
He will be missed by all.
