Norman Richard (Rick) Ostlund passed away at home on December 22, 2004.
Rick was predeceased by his father Norman Ostlund.
Rick is survived by his sons, David (Shanna) and Michael (Lindsay); grandson Ethan; mother Pat; sisters, Joanne (Brian), and Patricia (Kevin); brother Jim and Sharon. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
Rick was born in Chilliwack on October 30, 1953, raised in Hope and lived in Agassiz for many years before returning home. Devoted to his sons, Rick coached children’s baseball and soccer, enjoyed outdoor activities, and cribbage.
Rick served as a Correctional Officer in the Correctional Service of Canada for nearly 30 years. Throughout his years of service he maintained his sense of humour and compassion for others. He was always ready to help those in need. Rick will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on January 8, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Christ Church Anglican, 681 Fraser Ave., Hope, B.C.
