April 24, 1927 - January 27, 2019
Norm passed peacefully Sunday morning at the age of 91. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Alice (nee Thiessen) and his children Douglas Williams (Joni his wife) and Diane Williams (David Glavind her partner), grandchildren Corey Williams (Christine his wife) and Carson Roberts. His parents were Eva (nee Bowsfield ) and George Williams.

Norm was born in 1927 in Edmonton, Alberta. Most of his creative life was spent in Chilliwack, B.C. He achieved his Masters of Photography at the early age of 30 and went on to achieve Master Craftsman of Canada and U.S. and Professional Photographers of America. He was a talented teacher and judge of photography throughout North America. He taught locally at the college up to his 85th year.

His love of teaching, art, and photography inspired Diane's lifetime career as an artist, teacher and later photographer. His son's creative talent developed as a well-known builder of Artisan homes. His love for International sailboat racing was also passed on to Doug. Together, Norm and Alice traveled extensively to 32 countries during their 65 years together.

An avid Rotarian of over 63 years, Norm instigated many valuable community projects and entertained and educated with insightful slide shows of his photography.

Norm will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor and his generous spirit. Always ready with a big smile and his own special laugh, he made your day brighter. He leaves a great legacy in his children and all that he has embraced in this lifetime.

Norm's 90th Birthday last April was a Celebration of his life with friends and family. He requested no funeral. His ashes will be spread over Cultas Lake where he sailed and lived his inspiring life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in the name of Norm Williams. This is what Norm and the family would want.

The family would like to thank Dr. Markey and Dr. Wolfe for their wonderful care of Norm over the years.
