Nora Ellen Eccleston (nee Dillon) passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 75 years. She was born March 9, 1927 in Belfast, Ireland.
Nora is survived by eight children, Dianne (Rick) Knight of Chilliwack, Barb Burger of Surrey, Ron of Alberta, Brenda of New Westminster, Suzzanne of Chilliwack, Mike (Patty) of Chilliwack, Nancy Guay of Chilliwack, and Art (Michelle) of Rosedale; one sister Sally Worsta of Alberta; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Sarah Dillon, first husband Earl Thomas Eccleston; second husband Joe Gosson; daughter-in-law Lynn Eccleston; aunt Lil; and brother John Dillon.
Cremation took place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 at Mission Crematorium.
Casketbearers were Nora’s daughters, Dianne, Barb, Brenda, Suzzanne, and Nancy, and daughter-in-law Patty.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. from Woodlawn Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. in Chilliwack, with Major Sandra Haggarty officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice.
