Noll (Bud) Joseph Hatch

October 6, 2005

Following an unexpected but acute illness, Bud passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital October 6, 2005, at the age of 86. Bud was born and grew up in Chilliwack and was a direct descendant of Reuben Nowell, acclaimed to be the first European pioneer to settle in this area in 1858.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his devoted daughter, Valerie and husband, Dale; grandchildren: Christopher (Susan), Noelle (Jeff), Antony (Tracey) and great-grandchildren: Jade, Kristen, Valentina, Adam, Lucas, Victoria, Laura and Hunter.

Following the completion of his degree in Mining Engineering at UBC he applied his technical knowledge at mine and smelting sites in BC and Quebec, and as far away as Arabia and Peru. Upon his return to Chilliwack in the mid ‘50’s to manage and develop the family business, Orchard RV Park, he was able to continue his lifelong passion of catch-and-release fly fishing in the bountiful streams and lakes of our beautiful province. In all that he did he demonstrated the standard of “doing it right” and “doing it well”, and lived his life accordingly.

As requested, a family celebration of life gathering rather than a public memorial service will be held.
