Nick Ignatieff passed away at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. Nick was born May 21, 1925. Nick is survived by his wife Anne; 6 children, Lana (Tom), Barb (Dale), Greg, Alan (Andrea), Dale (Jocelyne) and Randy (Mariella); 8 grandchildren, Theresa (Caleb), Duane (Andrea), Jacklyn, Jordan’s wife, Kenna, Chase, Dana, Delaney, Spencer and Dawson; 3 great grandchildren, Venna, Zy and Grayson, 2 sisters Lydia and Nadia. Nick was predeceased by his grandson Jordan.
Dad was a wonderful father and husband. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family. We were his first priority. He was always active building or fixing something. He enjoyed long walks on beaches with mom, playing chess with his sons, drawing with his grandchildren, fishing with his sons-in-law, taking trips throughout BC and Alberta, playing bridge in Abbotsford and watching a good hockey game. He leaves many family, friends and fellow welders/ pipefitters with fond memories.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 27th , at 2:00 pm at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack; Reverend John Sovereign officiant. Reception for family and friends to follow.
If family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Canuck Place, Children’s Hospice or BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, in Nick’s name.
