Neila Ethel Osborne (nee Kaufman) passed from this earth and into the loving arms of her Saviour on October 5, 2008 in Chilliwack, BC.

She was born on June 12, 1926 to Amy and George Kaufman in Cardross, Sask., into a family of nine children.

She was predeceased by her parents, four sisters, two brothers and other relatives.

She is survived by Dianne (Gerald) Alder and family, Deborah (Ted) Sortor and family, and Della Osborne and family. Also left to mourn is her brother Lloyd (Verna) Kaufman and family, sister Lorna Huber and family, 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends and her two precious cats, Tibby and Spot.

Neila’s love for children led her to foster care work, care for a loving nephew Melvin, adopt two daughters and eventually work as a nanny. After retiring, Grama Neila assisted the students at Evans Elementary by reading to them.

Neila had a diverse nature. She started her own home based business of RV trailer rentals in Coquitlam. She found much enjoyment in entertaining in her home, gardening, correspondence, reading, singing, the outdoors and even appreciating old cars, especially Buicks. Her faith was planted in her heart at 12 years of age and preserved her through good an bad times, even to her death.

Special thanks to the staff at Chilliwack General hospital. Thank you to Dr. Dueck, Dr. Bartel, the home support staff and the incredible caring staff at Cascade Hospice for all their support.

The funeral service was officiated by Gordon Winkler and Ruth Barclay at the Chilliwack Community Church at 46420 Brooks Ave., Thursday, October 9, 2008.
