(nee Simpson)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myra Dorothy McGregor. She left us to return home to be with the Lord and her family on November 4, 2009 at the Cascade Hospice at the age of 77.

She was born on September 17, 1932 in Notre Dame Du Nord in Quebec. She was pre-deceased by Alan McGregor, her husband, and her three sisters, Evelyn Simpson, Mary Fournier and Lila Simpson. Myra will be greatly missed by her son, Dale McGregor, daughter in-law, Debbie McGregor and her four grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Nichole and Angela.

Myra was an elementary school teacher and taught at many different schools in Ontario and western Canada and retired at the age of 55. During her retirement years, she traveled extensively throughout the world and always lived close to her family to play an active and totally devoted role in their lives. She loved to read and watch good British drama.

She had a charming and endearing demeanor and a graceful gentle spirit which garnered many good and long lasting friends for her during her lifetime. She was also very active in the Baha’i community in Chilliwack.

The funeral service and interment was held on Thursday, November 5 at the Valley View Memorial Gardens in Surrey, BC.

Our family gives special thanks to Dr. Voth, Dr. Winston and the many medical professionals in the Chilliwack and Abbotsford Hospital and the Cascade Hospice, caregivers, ambulance service and volunteers who supported her and eased her through her journey. She was truly blessed to have such an amazing health care support system to care for her in her hours of need and was truly grateful and thankful to them.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
