(March 20, 1926 – April 8, 2003)
With her family at her side, Muriel Farrant (nee Bates) passed away peacefully in Duncan, BC.
Muriel was pre-deceased by her loving husband Ted in 1989. They had met in 1944 when Dad was a Canadian soldier stationed in England. They were married in 1945 and Mom followed Dad to Canada where they set up housekeeping in Rosedale. A few years later, they moved to Agassiz to farm. Besides being a housewife and mother, Mom worked in the Agassiz post office.
Muriel is survived by her children: Sandra (Peter), Robert (Pat), Wendy (Kelvin), Jeff (Debbie), Pam (Lou); sister, Vera (Bill); sister-in-law Doreen; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
At Muriel’s request, there will be no service.
If friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
