Our dear husband, dad, and opa will always be remembered for his passion for his kids and grandkids and great grandkids, and playing or singing as a family. Dad was always humming or singing along. He had a heart for those with special needs and broken lives.
Many foster children found love on his lap and in his arms. He was known to all as "OPA". Dad immigrated from the Netherlands in 1953 and when he married mom they started dairy farming together on Gibson Road until he retired. After his retirement he lived in Sardis for 16 years. Dad loved to visit his children and grandchildren and great -grandchildren throughout Canada and America.
Funeral service will be held for immediate family only on March 5, 2021 at 10 am from the Bethel Netherlands Reformed Congregation on 8920 Broadway. There will be a drive by opportunity for condolences on Thursday evening, March 4 at 5:30 to 7 pm. There will also be an opportunity for viewing at this time. No flowers by request of the family.
