TURMAN; Miros (Joe)
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Miros (Joe) Turman at the age of 94 years in Chilliwack, BC. Miros was born in Zelena, Poland on January 16, 1922. The family immigrated to Alberta and then to Sardis, BC where they made their home in the Wells Road area. Miros met and married Mary Jane Doucette in Vancouver, BC in 1946 and moved to Sardis, BC and proceeded to have three children over the years. Miros was predeceased by his parents Nick and Katherine Turman of Chilliwack, BC, his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Jane and his eldest grandson Darren Friesen of Ft. McMurray, AB. Miros is survived by his two daughters, Pat (Darwin) Friesen of Windthorst, SK, Joanne (Terry) Holowachuk of Birch River, MB and his son Dennis (Jackie) Turman of Chilliwack, BC. He is further survived by his sister Orysia (Walt) Olleck of Sardis, BC, seven grandchildren; Melinda (Tony) Thompson, Jeffery Boychuk (Daniela), Christy (Luiz) Dos Santos, Jillian Turman, Jenna (Mitchell) Schindle, Danielle (Dustin) Allenby, Cory Turman (Tiana) & great grandchildren; Carly Chaput, Joshua Boychuk, Karissa Boychuk, Ciara Thompson, Logan Boychuk, Anabelle Dos Santos, Juliet Dos Santos and Natalia Dos Santos. He is further survived by two nephews, Rodney (MaryAnn) Olleck and Glenn (Teresa) Olleck. Prayers and viewing will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday evening, October 28th at 7:00 pm. with a Funeral Mass to be held Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at 11:00 am. A luncheon to follow at St. Mary's Gym. Memorial Donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Chilliwack Branch 4 or a favourite charity in lieu of flowers should you so desire.
