(nee Rolling)

Mildred Marie Whillans (nee Rolling) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at The Bradley Centre, CGH at the age of 79. She was born in St. Thomas, Ontario on October 23rd, 1929, the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Rolling of St. Thomas Ontario.

Mildred enjoyed being a wife, homemaker, and mother. She enjoyed doing puzzles, loved her dogs, and was always quick to lend a helping hand to her family when in need. She will be forever remembered by her quick wit and sense of humor.

Mildred volunteered at the Alymer, Ontario museum where she spent the last 30 of her 34 years. She came to Chilliwack, BC after her mother’s passing in 2003 to be closer to her family. Mom enjoyed going to the Chilliwack YMCA for exercises and socializing.

Mildred was predeceased by her son Paul and will be sadly missed by her husband Charles of whom she spent the last 59 years, three daughters: Sheila (Brian) Zeiner of Langley, BC, Joanna (Gerald) Anderson; their two daughters: Leah (Glen) Hansen and great-grandson (Van) and Gina Clare of Chilliwack, Brenda (Jack) Gloyn of Terrace, BC; and their two daughters: Dana of Abbotsford, BC and Stephanie of Vancouver, BC. She will also be remembered by Brian and Ron Charleton. Much appreciation and thanks to all the Care Aides, Nurses, Activity aides, Secretarial and Housekeeping staff at the Bradley Centre for all the TLC that was bestowed upon her.

Mildred will be fondly remembered as Minnie by her close friends and relatives.

A private Memorial Service will be conducted in May on Vancouver Island where she will be laid to rest with her son Paul.
