It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother Meta Elisabeth Morthorst, but we are comforted in the knowledge that she will now be supported for eternity by the awaiting arms of her loving husband Hans Erik Morthorst.
Born in Tustrup Denmark in 1928, Mum was one of 12 children born to Mads and Agnes Andersen. Immigrating to Canada and British Columbia in 1957 with her husband Hans and their 4 children she was a Jane of all trades, who loved to dance, play gin rummy, lawn bowl and cook.
She is survived by all of her children Birthe Andersen and spouse Jess of Horsens, Denmark, Greta Adams and spouse Benjiman of Washington, USA, Benny Morthorst and spouse Bonnie of Esbjerg, Denmark, Lona LaPorte and spouse Bruce of Chilliwack, BC. Mum is also survived by five grandchildren Kristina Braun, Ryan Mauch, Danny Andersen, Carla Dyck and Mikael Morthorst, and finally the loves of her life, three great grandchildren Shae, Madaline, and Franciska.
Our mom was an incredible mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved and cared so very much about her family. Her death has left a tremendous void in our daily lives.
