August 23, 1948 – October 31, 2022
Ethel Inglis, Mervin’s dear partner, will miss him every day. Wayne Ferguson (Mervin’s brother) and his wife Vikki, were his greatest lifelong friends. Vikki introduced Mervin and Ethel in 1990.
Mervin worked as a loader operator for Columbia Bitulithic Limited at the asphalt plant and gravel pit in Aldergrove for 40 years. Many truck drivers and others would remember him. After he retired, he enjoyed golfing, walking his dog, and mowing the lawn.
After 1972, Mervin provided a home in Chilliwack for his mother, seven siblings, their spouses, and his nieces and nephews, giving the family a secure base.
His remains will rest beside those of his parents, John and Helen, in Carman United Church Cemetery in Sardis, BC.
Join us on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, to celebrate his life.
