It is with great sorrow that we share that Melvin, (Mel) Vander Hoek passed away on Oct. 29, 2021 at the age of 79 years.
Melvin was born on July 2, 1942, the third son of Oscar and Leona Vander Hoek. His family immigrated to Canada in 1951 and settled in the Fraser Valley. Dad and Mom married in 1965. Dad was a go-getter, and worked tirelessly enabling Dad and Mom to settle on Birch Rd where they farmed and raised their family.
Mel is survived by Della (Visser), his loving wife of 56 years. He was a loving father to Greg (Margaret), Kevin (Charlotte), Lorreen (Mark) Veerman, Vince (Allison), Rose (Jason) Beukens and beloved Pake to 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
We find comfort in knowing that God's love embraced Mel and called him to his eternal home.
