Maywood (May) Gwendolyn Dorman (nee Matthews) our loving and soulfully beautiful mother joined the heavenly universe on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Valley Haven in Chilliwack, B.C.

Her creative and undaunted spirit was an inspiration that will live on in the many lives she touched during her lifetime. Mom was a selfless, gentle, giving, caring and compassionate woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was born September 7, 1935 in Alberton, P.E.I.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred (Fred) Dorman. She will be deeply missed by her children Vicky (Curtis, Crystal & Kimberley), Blanche (Norm, Yvonne, & Michael), Fred (Matthew & Joey, Susan, Ryan, Brandon & Kayla), Bonnie (Joe, Christina, Shannon & Natasha), Linda (Paul, Amy, Tasheena & Clayton) Milt (Karen, Josh, Austin & Noah) and Shyla.

She also leaves 17 great grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her parents Russell Matthews and Amy Lou Matthews (nee Ramsay) and our beloved sister Gloria Dorman.

Mom married Alfred (Fred) Dorman in Banff, Alberta on May 14, 1955 and they had 7 children. During Fred's career the family was posted to Calgary, Germany, Victoria and Chilliwack where they settled.

Mom loved hiking, bike riding, fishing, baking and most of all camping with her family. Mom had such a love for animals. Mom's home was always open, she was a nurturer, had a forgiving heart and did her part to bring kindness into our world.

Alfred (Fred) and family would like to thank the staff at Valley Haven for their loving care of our mother (May) while there.
