January 16, 1920 - November 3, 2018
Mom passed away peacefully on November 3rd at 98 years, in Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by family.

Mom was born in Vancouver and had a wonderful childhood, spending summers on the beach at the ocean and enjoying everything the city had to offer. It was here that she met and married her handsome flight sergeant at the end of WWII. They celebrated 55 years together during which time they lived in Ottawa, the Northwest Territories and northern Quebec before coming back home to the Rosedale area of BC.

Mom loved gardening, and in her younger years was happiest when she was on her rider mower looking after her large yard in Rosedale that she landscaped herself. In later years after she moved to Chilliwack to live with family, her greatest pleasure was sitting outside having her morning coffee, enjoying the flowers in the yard and looking at the mountains she loved. She was a wonderful baker, and there was always a pie or a batch of cookies for the family to enjoy. She was an avid reader and would often tell us she felt like she had travelled the world through her stories. She was an accomplished musician, playing piano, organ and accordian. She had a great affection for animals, and we know she and her beloved pal, Joey, are walking together again.

Mom was predeceased by her husband George "Vic" Young, brother Stewart Fraser, granddaughter Rebekkah Miller, and step-grandson Robert "Bobby" Kusch. Mom is survived by daughters Janet (Walter) Miller, Connie (Len) Kusch, grandchildren Colin (Cheryl) Lacey, Craig Lacey, Scott Lacey, Anna Miller and step-granddaughter Terri (Darren) Brooks; great-grandchildren Emerson, Grant, Brodie (Britanie), Logan, McKenna and Decklen.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. There is no service by request, but the family will plan a celebration of life at a later date.

We would like to thank the staff at the CGH emergency ward for the extraordinary kindness and compassion shown to our family. They went above and beyond and we appreciate their efforts more than we can express.
