Maxine passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on the evening of January 9, 2008 at the age of 76 years, as she lost her struggle with cancer.
She is predeceased by her first husband Carle Merriam; sister: Jenny; brother: Fred; and son-in-law: Dick.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Merv; her devoted children Frances, Mae (Basil), Carle(Vicki), Shella (Doug), Ellen (Dick, deceased), Esther (Doug), Alyis (Fritz); 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two step-children: Cheryl (Dean), Brian; two step-grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, January 14, 2008 between 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, B.C. phone (604-854-5534).
A memorial service being held on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at the same location, reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
