It is with much sadness that the family announces that on Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at the age of 76 Moe passed away peacefully in Chilliwack with his wife and daughter Beverly holding his hands after a courageous battle against cancer.

Moe had truly enjoyed the visits and love from many family members and friends over the last few months.

Moe was a loving husband, a hero to his children, a proud and loving grampa, great-grampa, a great brother, son, uncle and godfather as well as a loyal friend. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Bunty) Standeven, children Beverly, Darrel, Janice, and Cathy, grandchildren Jennifer, Joanna, Daniel, Crystal, Kimberly, Julie and Kristina, and great-grandchildren Lane, Gaige, Kieryn and Locklyn. Also survived by Bunty’s loving children Frank, Gloria, Sharon and Rick, grandchildren Scott, Brent , Mark, Rochelle, Carla, Kevin and Andrew, and great-grandchildren Gina, Jamie, Owen, Saron, Ashley, and Brandon, sister Rita Roy of North Bay, Ontario, and brother Henry of Mission.  Moe was predeceased by his parents Elodina and Edouard Chaput of North Bay, Ontario, first wife Maralyne, daughter Diane, 3 grandchildren and by brothers Wilfred, Conrad, Raymond, Charlie and sisters Fanny, Lynn, and Gertrude.

Respecting his wishes, there will not be a funeral.  A celebration of Maurice’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheam Golf Course, 44610 Luckakuck Way in Chilliwack. Remembrance donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
