It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. You left us with so much of your love and wonderful memories to treasure always.
Mary passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 peacefully at her home in Chilliwack with her family by her side at the age of 77.
She was born Oct. 1, 1930 in Swift Current, Sask.
Mary is survived by five children: Gordon, Beverly (Ted) Booth, Brian, Ron, Wayne (LuAnn); sister, Helen (Jack) Froese; sister-in-law, Fay (Ben) Braun; brother-in-law Pat (Mamey) Charleson; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband Charlie April 3, 1997, mother Katie 1968; stepmother Margaret, Nov. 1978; father Peter, Oct. 1978; brother, Peter Dec. 1993; sister, Katie May 2000.
Mary’s favourite past times were working in her flower gardens, planting flower pots, canning fruits and vegetables, baking buns, pies, platz and making borscht.
She also enjoyed doing plastic canvas crafts and crocheting. Mary enjoyed her weekly meeting with the Coqualeetza Elders Group. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary enjoyed all sports particularly the ones her children and grand-children played.
A graveside service will be held on Wed, Dec. 19, 2007 at 11:00 am leaving from Eden Mennonite Church on Chilliwack Central Rd. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm at Eden Mennonite Church with Pastor Kerry Palmer officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Dec. 18, 2007 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, from 7:30 – 9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the BC Cancer Agency and the MCC.
