Stevens; Mary "Elaine" (Nee Mackereth)
Elaine passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband George with their family by her side in Chilliwack General Hospital September 10, 2013. Elaine was born October 1, 1935 in Victoria, BC where she lived until she met and married the love of her life George in 1956. Elaine is survived by her husband George, sister Doreen, daughters Joanne (John), Jean (Bernie), Sandra (Dale), many nieces, nephews, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Elaine is predeceased by her parents, two brothers George and Bill, daughter Lynne and grandson Terry.
Elaine worked at the Red Cross in Halifax and then over 20 years at Mountain Institution as the Wardens Secretary. She spent her life helping others as a soldier in the Salvation Army, playing piano and teaching others about the Lord. She was a very faithful person that would be there if help was needed. Elaine was the first mate to her captain George and they truly enjoyed their time together at the cabin on Harrison Lake. A memorial service was held on September 14th. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Salvation Army. Henderson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
