Mary SAVISKY

Surrounded by her family, Mary Savisky reposed peacefully on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005 at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask.

Mary is survived by her loving family, son Terry, daughter-in-law Rory; daughter Helen, son-in-law Larry, grandchildren, Zoe, grand-son-in-law Brian; grandson Cody, granddaughter-in-law Amanda, granddaughters, Tanya and Stephanie; grandson, Michael; great-granddaughter Kaitlyn, and step-grandchildren, Wayne and Audra. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Mabel Luciuk and Olga Lucink, Susie Savisky, Kathy Ford, and Sophie Edmondson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Wasyl and Sandra Luciuk, husband Michael, brothers, Michael, John, Bill and George, two brothers in infancy, sister Katherine, sister-in-law Emily and brother-in-law Alec Michayluk.

Mary was born on March 25, 1916 on the farm near Wakaw, Sask. She married Michael in 1931.

The family expresses special thanks to all family and friends for their prayers and for their kindness and concern for Mary. Thank you also to Dr. Stakiw and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Mary in her last days on this earth.

Funeral services, conducted by Fr. Demjan Hohol, took place on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home (4th Ave. and 25th St.) with interment following in the Orthodox section of Woodlawn Cemetery. A reception followed at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre. Prayer services took place on Sunday evening February 6, 2005 at Saskatoon Funeral Home.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donation made to St. Andrew’s Ukranian Orthodox Parish, St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit, or the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, would be appreciated by the family.
