It is with saddened hearts to announce that Mary Preuss passed away January 9, 2003 at home, at the age of 77 years. She was born September 9, 1925 in Franzfeld, Russia. She has lived in this area for 61 years.
The best mom and oma, Mary loved her family very much. She dedicated her life to them. She was a wonderful cook and loved to knit and crochet fine tablecloths and afghans for family and friends. She knitted layettes for all her grandchildren and future grandchildren. Mary also worked at Chilliwack General Hospital as an LPN for 22 years on the Maternity Ward. “She was highly loved by all the new mothers’’ and they would stop to talk to her years later to reminisce.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Henderson’s Funeral Home, Reverend Doug Ireland officiating. A reception will follow at Henderson’s Funeral Home Tea Room, concluded by an interment of cremated remains at the Chilliwack Cemeteries on Little Mountain.
Mary is survived by her children, Angelica (Cliff) Beecroft, Manfred (Kathy) Preuss, and Erica (Vaughn) Beecroft; as well as 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Kurt Alfred Preuss who passed away August 10, 2002. “She missed him with all her heart and went to be with him’’.
