Loewen; Mary Lou. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving Mum, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Mary Lou Loewen on November 24, 2013 at Chilliwack, BC. Survived by her children; Patti (Randy) Isaak; Tony (Tracey) Poulsen; Karen (Harry) Hubner; Lori (John) Pazar. Her grandchildren; Dustin (Amy), Dayna (Rob), Eric, Travis, Amber, Jessie, Alex, Jakob and Paige. Great grandchildren; Madyson, Mackenna, Gavin, Anora, Kassidy and Kyla. Special friend Arne, four brothers; Dick (Joyce); Bob (Ada); Tim (Joan); Steven (Sylvia), one sister; Betty and sister-in-law Jean, several nieces and nephews , a large extended family, and many wonderful friends.
Predeceased by her husband Jake, brother Ron, brother-in-law Gordon, niece Nancy, and both her parents.
Mum was born on May 6th, 1942 in East Angus, Quebec, and moved to BC at a young age. She spent her working years in the food industry in Chilliwack working in or managing several businesses including Geordies Drive-in, Smitty's Pancake House, Younies Restaurant, The Birchwood and Lynnwood Retirement Residences, and also the Pointa Vista Cafe in which she owned and operated. Mum loved to play cards and enjoyed her many trips to the casino, but by far her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
