August 27, 1925 - October 3, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother Mary Hockin (nee Foster) on Sunday , October 3, 2021 after just turning 96 years old.
She leaves behind her husband Warner of almost 75 years. Sons Lloyd, Gary (Sharon), Tim (Lori), Ken (Christina). Daughter Lorraine (Marty). She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mom was born Aug 27, 1925 in Vancouver where she met the love of her life Warner. She moved to Chilliwack in 1947 where they were married at the Rosedale United Church. There was nothing more important to Mom than family. In her life she worked at the old Greyhound Bus Depot in Chilliwack in the 60's and was employed at the Fraser Valley Health Unit from 1970 ~ 1985 when she retired.
In her retirement years she especially enjoyed going down to the river at Island 22 with friends to sit around the campfire, she also enjoyed going out with Dad license plate collecting.
Our family is most grateful to Dr Markey and Dr Wolfe and the staff at Chilliwack hospital Bradley Centre for the care and kindness they showed our Mom over the past 6 years. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. We love and miss
everything about her. There will be no funeral service at this time. The family will be having a celebration of her life at a later date.
