It is with deep sadness we announce that our mother Mary Helen MacKenzie passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 with her family by her side.Mary was born May 1, 1923 in Victoria the only child of George and Margaret MacGregor. Her life was devoted to her family as she traversed Canada as a military wife eventually settling in Chilliwack. She loved playing bridge, doing puzzles and was an avid curler with non-stoppable energy. More recently she lived in Langley to be closer to family and receive the TLC she needed.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, Greg; sons Rodrick (Linda) and Colin; daughter Maggie (George); grandchildren Monique, Justin (Karen and her son Aiden) and Mariette; great granddaughter Emily and many friends.
A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Langley Golf Club, 9782 McKinnon Crescent, Fort Langley, B.C. V1M 3V6. Mary will be laid to rest at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Saanichton, BC, a beautiful place she loved.
The family thanks the staff of Langley Gardens and the emergency staff at Langley Memorial Hospital for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
