Hamilton, Mary Kathleen. September 30, 1930 ~ January 24, 2014. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and spent most of her youth in Coronation, Alberta. She moved to Chilliwack at the age of fifteen and spent the rest of her life here. Mary is predeceased by her husband Lyall "Doc" and four of her eight sisters; Grace, Amy, Dorothy and Betty. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children; Sharon (Rob), Dennis (Lori), Charlene (Jim) and Lynn; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one brother and four sisters, Bella, Ruth, Mona and Loretta.

Mary and Lyall owned and operated a gravel and excavation business in Chilliwack for 25 years. For many years they were active in the Chilliwack pony racing community. They bred and raised their own ponies and participated in pony races throughout BC and outside the province. Mary's strength, courage and outlook on life inspired many people. Mary considered herself fortunate to be part of a large, close extended family. Family and friends were of utmost importance to her. She passed on those beliefs to all of us.

Throughout her life, Mary most enjoyed sewing and gardening. In honour of her love of flowers, we encourage people to include flowers in their choice of dress for the celebration of her life.

In later years, Mary enjoyed line dancing, hiking, carpet bowling, floor curling and playing cards with her many friends. Mary's funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Mary's memory. Henderson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Online Condolences can
