Martha (nee Paul) DIEWERT

Martha Diewert (nee Paul) passed away December 30, 2005 at Bradley Center, Chilliwack, B.C. where she was a resident for 2 years.

She was born in the Millwoods area of Edmonton on July 23, 1902. She married Emil Diewert on November 30, 1927 and moved to LuLu Island, Richmond, B.C. in 1928. Then they moved to their farm in Chilliwack inn 1945 and retired in 1961. She lived a total of 60 years in Chilliwack to an age of 103 ½ years. She outlived all of her nine siblings.

She is survived by her daughter Grace Wegner and son Wilbert (Frieda) Diewert. Grandchildren; Marilyn (Jay) Spitery, Ken (Glenda)Wegner, Don (Gwen) Wegner; Joanne (Merle) Stansky, Denise (Chris) Blomsko, Lynette (Andre) deZwaan, Donna (Gregg) Stiles. Great Grandchildren; Mitchell, Conner and Lucas Stiles; Ryan and Nicole deZwaan; Lisa and Amy Stansky; Claire, Shannon, Ian and Jordan Wegner; Melissa, Tegan and Nicholas Wegner, Candace (Jim) Slater and baby Nial, Chris (Mae) Balanko, Crystal and Daniel Spritery. One sister-in-law Ida Paul and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Emil in 1989, daughter Erma in 1943, grandson Allen in 1962 and son-in-law Reinhart in 1992 as well as three brothers and six sisters.

As a young girl she trusted Christ as her Savior and through her life her faith was important to her. Many thanks to her caregivers at Bradley Center.

A Celebration of her life was held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Evangelical Missionary Church with Pastor Glenn Fretz officiating.
