December 22, 2006

It is with deep sadness that the family of Marlene Rose Enger announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and dear friend on December 22nd, 2006.

Marlene was born October 6th, 1940 in Chilliwack, B.C. to Lila and Erwell Ashdown, into a family of sisters, Patricia (Pelosse) and Sharon (Reg Warren); and brothers, Arlin (Nicole) and Dwayne Ashdown.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Ken Enger and her loving children, Jeffrey and Kristine (Graham Pinkus).

Marlene began her career at B.C. Tel and worked at CFB Chilliwack for 23 years as a Switchboard Operator/Supervisor, retiring when the base closed. Marlene will best be remembered by her love of athletics, avidly participating in curling, golfing, skiing, bowling and swimming.

She was well known for her beautiful knitting; her pleasure in golden sunshine and travel; cooking for those she loved; as well as photographing and enjoying flowers, especially poppies.

The celebration of Marlene’s life will be held Saturday, December 30th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chilliwack Curling Club, 9291 Corbould Street, Chilliwack.
