Marlene Luise Schmid born January 16, 1936 in Hannover Germany passed away peacefully March 7, 2018.
She immigrated to eastern Canada in 1955 where she was a fashion model and had a modeling school. She then moved to B.C. in 1970.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years Otto Schmid, her two children from a previous marriage, daughter Patricia, her husband Steven, their four children and four grandchildren, and Marlene's son Ron.
Otto and Marlene lived in Vancouver until the early 1990's and moved to Chilliwack where they bought a small farm where they sold fresh vegetables. Marlene was a determined person that always enjoyed working hard on the farm picking vegetables, canning, and arranging large parties. Everyone enjoyed her company, and all the awesome food she would prepare for those functions.
Marlene enjoyed doing road trips with Otto, international vacations, and especially cherished spending time with her daughter and family in Hawaii. Marlene also enjoyed time with all her friends and neighbours and will be missed by them all.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harrison wing at Bradley Centre for all their care and support over the past two years.
Marlene requested to be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
