May 21, 1962 - April 20, 2019
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our most loved and cherished husband, brother, uncle and friend. Mark was a man of quiet faith and throughout his long illness fully made his peace with God and the fact that he would have to go home to be healed. He is safe now and whole again, fishing with our dads, jamming with Jimi Hendrix and letting our moms make a fuss over him.

Mark had a lot of help in the course of his treatment. We are eternally grateful to the heroes that fought along with us to try and keep him here, and later to those who helped us make his transition comfortable and peaceful. If he could have survived on sheer effort and force of will alone, he would have lived forever. You are all, as he would have said, absolute rock stars.

Mark had a lot of love in his life. Blessed with family on both sides of the ocean, he will be much missed by Cynthia, his wife of 16 years and his family in England; sister Carole and Brian Griffin; sister Janet Beech; brother David and Lin Shuker. Cynthia's family here in Canada; Lorraine Peters, Greg and Wilma Peters; Ken and Yvonne Peters as well as many nieces and nephews on both sides of the pond. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gwen Woodward; Cynthia's parents Len and Betty Peters and brother-in-law Colin Lipscombe.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held at Chilliwack Alliance Church on Thursday, May 9th at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support the Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant Program at VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.
