nee Lee

Born in Fairfax, Manitoba on December 22, 1928, Marj died peacefully in Chilliwack, BC on January 27, 2011, with family by her side.

Marj married Allan Kydd in Elgin, Manitoba on June 11, 1949, beginning a 61 year journey of love, devotion, travel and adventures. She will be always remembered by her children Doug (Jacki), Kevin (Sue) and Shannon, as well as grandchildren Robyn, Darcy, Aaron, Emily, Andrea, Curtis and Jay. Marj was delighted to see, through photos and video, her first great grandchild, Juliette, born in New Zealand in 2010. Marj was part of a large prairie family, and is survived by her siblings Edith McKeen, Shirley Anderson, Linda (Bob) Page and Rod (Ruby) Lee, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her brother Jack (Joyce) Lee. Marj accompanied Allan to numerous air bases around BC during the course of his lengthy career as a bush and fire bombing pilot. Together they enjoyed the camaraderie of the flying community. Avid travelers, with Marj navigating and Allan behind the wheel, they explored every province of Canada, and most of the 50 United States. They spent 30 years “snowbirding” in Desert Hot Springs, California, and treasured the friends they made there. Marj was an ardent ice and floor curler, but in later years her favourite indoor sport was playing casino slot machines. Marj had a keen sense of humour and was a legendary family storyteller. Thanks to Dr. Macintosh and the wonderful staff at Cheam Village for their caring support of Marj.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 23, 2:00 PM at The Friendship House 7272 Morrow Road, Agassiz, BC.
