Marjorie Lillian Lewis

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marjorie Lillian Lewis. Marjorie, known to most as Marj, passed away April 28, 2017. She was born in Osgood Township Ontario, October 20, 1933. She is survived by her sister, Fern (Jack) Newell, Son Michael (Cheryl) Lewis, Daughters; Peggy (Rick) Gamache,

Trish (Rolf) Soth. Marj and her late husband, Mick, had a group of grandchildren who were their pride: Curtis (Lynne) Gamache, Ryan (Jocylene) Ridgway, Emily (Ryan) Herron, Amanda (Kevin) Grant, Erica (Jordan) Coatta, Karl (Kaela) Soth, and Dan Lewis are thankful for the impact their Nan had on their childhood. Great-grandmotherhood was a sincere point of pride for Marj; Jessica, Rebecca, Sarah, Brooklyn, Kathryn, Jett, Elizabeth, Maxwell, Kiley, Kaeden, Aidan, and Benjamin – with the brood ever growing. We know she will continue to tend to her garden of great grandbabies from afar. Along with being a pillar to a strong family, Marj was also an operator for what was BC Tel and a devoted serviceman’s wife. Volunteering for various organizations was her strongest hobby – which is saying a lot, as she could sew anything in very quick time. She was especially active in the Canadian Cancer Society, the Cultus Lake Elementary School library and the Mt. Cheam Lions Club. Finally, many may remember hearing of her leaping off tall buildings in a single bound. Yes, she was Super Grandma! Individually fundraising over $10,000 for the Easter Seals House to the end of rappelling down a Vancouver high-rise.

Marj will be remembered for her spunk, her unwavering dedication to people and causes she loved, and willingness to always try something new. A celebration of a life will be held at the Coast Hotel (Chilliwack), on Friday May 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM. A donation in Marjorie’s name can kindly be made to a charity of your choice.
