Marion Louise Rollins (nee Arthan) passed away peacefully on 20 October 2016 in Chilliwack. She leaves behind her daughter, Bobbie, (Sam Clenachan) of New Westminster, sons Douglas (Jean) of Sidney, and Brian (Heather and son Scott Mason) of Chilliwack. Grandchildren include Janelle, of North Vancouver (Jamie Goddard), Della (Matt McLennan), and Scott Rollins (Michelle), both of Toronto. Great grandchildren are Leigh and Shea Goddard at university in Calgary. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald, of Regina, Saskatchewan. Marion was born on 19 April, 1918 in Tompkins, Saskatchewan. In her youth she moved many times throughout Saskatchewan with her family, and in 1942 graduated as a Registered Nurse in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Having joined the Canadian Army, in England she tended the D-Day casualties and endured the rocket bombardment campaigns. While nursing at the Deer Lodge in Winnipeg she met the love of her life, F/O Donald Rollins. Marion was an avid sportswoman who loved both golf and curling. After the passing of her husband she moved to Chilliwack in 1978 to pursue these activities. Always up for a challenge, she completed the Vancouver Sun Run ten times in her 70s and 80s. She was also an avid fan of both football and hockey. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Haven Guest Home in Chilliwack for taking such good care of her in the latter part of her life. Marion’s final tee-off time is 1:00 pm on November 12th at the Chilliwack Golf Course and friends and family are invited to celebrate her long and rewarding life.
