It is with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Marion at the age of 90.
Marion is predeceased by husband, Bob in 2010, and son Bill in 2015. Marion was born in Semans, Sasketewan, later her family settled in Agassiz. During the flood of 1948, she played an important role in keeping communications open at the telephone office.
Marion lost her beloved brother Harry in WWII. In 1957, Mom and Dad moved to the house on the family property on Camp River Road and then began many happy years. Marion's sister-in-law Sylvia lived next door and soon a path was worn through the field to each other's kitchen tables. Frequent family drop-ins and Laughlin get togethers were always highlights that were full of fun.
Marion loved her years as a member of St. Peters church in Rosedale. Marion and Sylvia could always be found buzzing around the kitchen. Marion loved children and adored each of her 9 grandchildren. There was always frozen cookies in the freezer and Koolaid in the fridge. Marion was kind and gentle and only saw the good in everyone. We will miss her sweet smile.
Marion is survived by her daughters, Sheila and Maureen, son-in-law Kevin, daughter in law Wendy, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the staff at Eden Care Home for their exceptional care of Mom these last 5 years. A small graveside service will be held in the early fall.
