It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt and Friend, Marilyn Pillon, after a very lengthy illness. She fought a good fight and slipped away peacefully with family around her on January 8, 2019.
Marilyn Ferguson was born in Ontario in 1935 where she lived in the house that her father built, on Little Lake Joseph, until she was 12 years old. The family moved to Toronto and that was quite a culture shock for the little country girl. She married at age 18 and raised three children. Once her children had grown Marilyn's wandering nature took over and she lived in various places throughout Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, spending her final years in Chilliwack, B.C. Marilyn's fondest memories were those of her childhood by the lake. The sound of the loons in the early morning mist on the lake filled her heart with joy. She loved the feel of the cool autumn breeze on her face and walking in the snow on a cold and sunny winter day. Marilyn was always up for an adventure and a road trip. She wrote poetry and short stories, enjoyed painting and sketching and a good detective novel.
Dearly loved and missed by her children Stella (Eric), Russell (Stacey) and Susan, grandchildren Jason (Abigail) and Daniel (Carley) great grandson Forrest and nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her siblings Ray, Richard and Shirley.
The family would like to express their profound gratitude for the exceptional care given by the staff at Cascade Lodge. Your kindness and generosity of spirit were greatly appreciated throughout. Thank you also to Drs. Bartel and Lynch for your kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lung Association or Osteoporosis Canada. A Celebration of Life to be announced.
