Marilyn Elizabeth (nee Brown) ELLIS

February 28, 2007

April 5, 1941 – February 28, 2007

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Marilyn Ellis, mother, grandmother, and friend. After a long respiratory battle, she passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Chilliwack General Hospital.

She is predeceased by her mother, Eunice Brown.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa (John) Welch; her two grandsons, Christopher and Braydan Welch; by her son Terry (Tom) Ellis; her sister Lorraine (Bernard) Spring, her niece Julia Spring; and her aunts, Janet Hogg and Grace Harder.

She worked for many years for the BC Government Access Center until her retirement. She would often be found at the Bingo Hall or at home working on her many crochet projects.

She was especially passionate about spending time with her two grandsons whom she always referred to as “her boys”. Nothing made her happier than to have a special movie night with them or even just give them a hug.

Thank you to Drs. Fam and Son at C.G.H. for their care. We can’t thank all the nurses at the ICU ward enough for mom’s care over the last two months as well as their compassion and friendship during our visits.

A very special thank you to Dr. Bull for his support and understanding in helping with the most difficult decisions with mom’s care.

A service of remembrance and tea is planned on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Ireland officiating. Cremation.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the B.C. Lung Association.
