Marie Suzanne (nee Gagnon) COUTTS

July 3, 2007

Marie Suzannne Coutts (nee Gagnon) aged 65, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1942 in Kelowna, B.C. to the late Marcel and Suzannne Gagnon.

She graduated from Hope Secondary in 1960 and began nurse’s training at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.

In spite of being stricken with mental illness, which she battled courageously for the rest of her life, she managed to work as a secretary and then became co-owner of a beauty salon in Hope.

Her kindness, generosity (there was always someone more in need than herself) and sense of humour helped her through difficult times.

Her passing will leave a gap in our lives. Marie is survived by her daughter Theresa, grandson: Winter Allen, both of Kelowna; her brothers: Ray (Breeda) Gagnon of Hope and Peter (Mary-Susan) Gagnon of Chilliwack; her sister Yvonne (Bill ) Kennedy of Prince George; and her special friend Alain Marchand of Chilliwack. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew Aaron Gagnon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tueday, July 10, 2007 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 671 Water Street, Hope B.C. Fr. Claude Noel, celebrant.

Interment at the Catholic Cemetery in Hope.
