Marie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 6th, 2006 at Heritage Village in Chilliwack, BC.
Marie was born in Finn, Denmark on September 12th, 1921. Marie and her family immigrated to Canada in 1927. Marie and her late husband William were married in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1945. They moved to New Westminster, BC in 1952, then moved to Chilliwack, BC in 1962 with their family.
Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She belonged to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chilliwack for many years. Her interests included her family, friends, the church, travel and gardening.
Marie and her late husband, William, enjoyed trips to Europe and Hawaii. They spent their winters in southern California for 16 years.
Marie leaves to mourn, sons; Ron (Maureen) Prince George, BC, their children Amy, Adam and Heather; Rick (Daisy) Prince George, BC, his daughter Valerie and step-daughter Angela; Glen (Tracy) Chilliwack, BC; Rob (Pat) Chilliwack, BC, their daughter Lisa; daughters; Anita (Bob) Prince George, BC, their children Sean, Brandy and Dallas; Beverly (Mike) Port Hardy, BC, their children Eric and Andrea. Also left to mourn are six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and close friends John and Hilda Lakusta.
Marie was predeceased by her father Hans Jensen in 1961, her mother Thora Jensen in 1959, her brother Knud Jensen in 1944 and her husband William in 2001.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chilliwack, BC on Saturday, May 13th, 2006 at 10:00 am, Pastor Wayne Lunderby Officiating.
