It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Frantz (nee Isfeld) on November 3, 2021 at Heritage Village in her 90th year. Maria was born and raised in Gimli MB, which was always "home" to her. After finishing school, Maria moved to Winnipeg where she was employed by Investor Syndicate until she married.
At a 1950 NYE dance in Gimli, Maria met Vern (RCAF) and married him on her birthday Dec 1952. During many military moves, Maria raised four fine children. Maria and Vern eventually settled in Chilliwack BC in 1973. Maria participated in many activities including curling, bowling, and activities with her children throughout the moves and years. Maria also worked at a variety of jobs, including York Farms packing plant in Sardis.
Maria is survived by her husband Vern; her four children Larry (Holly, deceased), Sharon (Gord), Susan (Mark), Donald (James), four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Maria spent her last seven years in care, first at Eden Care home, then Heritage Village Residential Care Facility.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hirst and both care homes for the thoughtful care of Maria.
