Born June 2, 1924 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, passed away peacefully on January 27th in Courtenay, British Columbia.
Predeceased by her husband Philip and daughter Yvonne. Survived by her daughter Yolanda (Jim), sons Paul (Sandy) and Mark (Elvira); grandchildren Christopher, (Kaysee), Karen, Dan, (Delaine) and Julia, (Jon), Tiffany, (Trevor), and Tamara. Great grandchildren Jeron, Seth, Gavin, Allison, Kirsty, Ashley, Sophia and Lincoln. Ellen was was loved by all completely.
Ellen and Philip immigrated to Sarnia, Ontario in 1956. The family then moved to the Greater Vancouver area in 1966. Retired in 1981 Philip and Ellen moved to Texada Island and then in 1989 to the Comox/Courtenay area.
Ellen loved to walk by the ocean, baking her wonderful pastries for the children and grandchildren. Nicknamed Butterfly, Ellen was a joy to be with and had a lightness of being. She touched many people with kindness and playful conversation.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Comox Valley Seniors Village for their wonderful care of our mother.
