Rita was born on April 15, 1929 in Maasdijk, Netherlands in a family of 6 brothers and 1 sister, Rita being the fourth oldest. Rita died on August 13, 2021 at Valley Haven at the age of 92.
Mom never worked outside the home, but she knew how to stretch a dollar. She always had room for family, friends and gardening. Rita was a member with the Catholic Women's League for a large number of years.
Rita was predeceased by her loving husband Henk, daughter Martina, her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her children Margaret (Anthony), Johanes, Maria and Anne (Doug); grandchildren, Ben, Tim, Steven, great grandchild Mercedes, and her brother Tinus.
We would like to thank the care staff at Valley Haven Retirement Home in Chilliwack for the care mom had in her last year.
Prayers will be offered at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Agassiz, at 7 pm, Tuesday, August 24th with a Funeral Mass to follow Wednesday, August 25th at St. Anthony's at 11 am.
