Margaret POHL

Margaret Pohl, late of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully after a long illness patiently born, July 17, 2007 in Bradley Center at the age of 84 years. She was born in New Norway, AB, May 12, 1923.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Doreen Pohl of Chilliwack.

She is remembered by her brothers: Alex (Dorothy) of Tyne Valley, PEI., Ed (Beverly) of Teulon, MB. and John (Iona) Drummond of Sherwood Park, AB; and sister-in-law Rose Drummond of Calgary, AB; also sisters-in-law Frances Pohl of Prince George, Opal Garden of Langley and Diane “Dolly” Redford of North Battleford, SK, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband Willis in 2001 and by her parents Tommy and Alice Drummond; brothers: George and Willard; and a sister Gladys Cowan; brother-in-law Alex Cowan. Also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Frederick, Susie, Anna Zarlena, Melvin, Reuben (Martha), Wilhelmina Pohl, Raymae (Harvey) Hiemstra, Ruby Pohl, Robert Garden Sr., Lewellan Pohl and Edward Redford.

Margaret graduated from Viewpoint school near New Norway and then attended a private commercial school in Camrose graduating with a stenography certificate with honours. After graduating she remained and assisted at the school. Margaret then went on to work in drug stores in Camrose, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Margaret married Willis Pohl on June 19, 1959 in Victoria and they lived there until Willis retired. Margaret, Willis and Doreen then moved to Chilliwack where she resided until her death. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a contented homemaker.

In her youth she responded to the gospel and continued faithful to the Lord. She will be missed. Sweet release – safe with God.

A funeral service will be held on Sat., July 21, 2007 at the Chapel, Henderson’s Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Gordon Winkler officiating.

Interment to follow at the Chilliwack Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Allan Graham, Allen James, Owen Drummond, Grant Hiemstra, Robert Garden and Melvin Dodds.

If friends so desire, a donation to the Bradley Center (the extended care unit of CGH) would be appreciated, 45600 Menholm Rd, Chilliwack, V2P1P7.

Thanks to the staff of Valley Haven, the staff, residents and their families of Bradley Center, family and friends who lovingly cared for mum.
