Margaret McGillivray

Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2013 at Cascade Lodge at the age of 92 years. Margaret was born and raised in Peace River Alberta. In her early 20’s Margaret left home and joined the Canadian Armed Forces where she served for three years and following the war, Margaret relocated to Vancouver and worked for B.C. Telephone. After her marriage, Margaret moved to Chilliwack where she spent 25 years on the family dairy farm raising her three daughters.

In her retirement, Margaret travelled, fished and gardened with her soulmate Arthur, whom she shared so much love and laughter. Above all Margaret always looked forward to visits from her daughters and their families.

She will lovingly be remembered by daughters: Lois Eburne (Joe), Patti Ramsay (Jerry) and Susan vanden Brink (Bert); grandchildren: Joshua Eburne (Heather), Bradley Eburne (Carrie), Matthew Ramsay (Rachelle) and Jessie Ramsay (Stephen); great-grandchildren: Jack Eburne, Eleanor Eburne and Tyler Gaskall; and her brother, Gordon Allan. She was sadly predeceased by Arthur Fortier. Special thanks to Dr. Fitzpatrick and the staff of Cascade Lodge who lovingly cared for Margaret. We will deeply miss Mom’s love, kindness and her zest for life.

A private family “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at
