In a state of deep peace and acceptance, Marcel Wester effortlessly and graciously let go on May 26, 2012 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Marcel was born in Nieuwe Niedorp (NL) June 23, 1966, the ninth of ten children. He grew up on a diary farm and had a natural love for animals, nature and farming, eventually completing his degree in agriculture.

He moved to Canada in 1997 and immediately found a home in the pristine Ryder Lake, employment with Batavia Greenhouse Builders and love with the woman he would spend the rest of his life with.

Marcel always had an innate gift with animals from early on in his life both befriending them and doing dog rescue rehabilitation.

He was deeply loved by his wife, Teri, stepdaughter Krista, son-in-law Sean and adored by his grandchildren Isabella and Grayson. He will be missed by his large family in Holland and Canada.

Marcel, you will be greatly missed. You live deep in our hearts and all that you are is a part of us now. We are forever touched and changed by having you in our lives. We are blessed. We love you now and forever.

A Memorial is being held at False Creek Community Centre on Granville Island on Sunday, June 3rd at 12:30 pm.
