Magnus (Mac) HADVICK

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved ‘Mac’ Magnus Hadvick. Mac passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 29, 2016, in his 100th year. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife of 73 years Yvonne, his children Albert (Wanda), Karin (Dave), his grandchildren, Kevin, Stephanie (Joe), Christine (Darren), and siblings Bert Hadvick, and Madeline Ellis. Mac was born in Maystone Saskatchewan on August 24, 1916. He was the eldest of eight children, and was a magnificent older brother. In his early life, Mac served the Military in the Army Tank Core division, and later went onto become a successful Farm Mechanic. He settled in Chilliwack BC and continued to work tirelessly all his life for the betterment of his family, and his community. Mac was the gracious neighbour that would go the extra mile to help anyone in need. Whether that included fixing a broken down lawn mower, rebuilding a motor, or piping a new plumbing job. Mac also dedicated much of his life to serving many organizations in his community which include: The Lions, Sons of Norway, Senior Vets, and the Legion. Mac will be greatly missed by many friends and extended family. In lieu of a memorial, and to continue his legacy ‘befriend a neighbour, open your heart and be kind to each other’. Those were Mac’s life principles.
