Reverend Maarten VanderWel passed away on Tuesday May 3, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 78 years. Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on December 17, 1926, Rev. VanderWel is survived by his six children and ten grandchildren; sons
Wim (Anja), their children, Louise, Martine, Ulrike; Harpert (Margaret); Case; Dick (Melody), their children, Dwayne, Danae and Dolitta; John (Jacqueline); their children Martin, Nicholas, Holly and Casey; and Maarten (Marion). He was predeceased by his wife, Sophia and daughter in law, Sheri.
Rev. VanderWel was a faithful servant of God’s word in the congregations of Sneek/ Koudum, the Netherlands 1962-1968; London/ Watford, Ontario 1968-1971 and Abbotsford, British Columbia 1971-1991. He retired in 1991 to Cultus Lake, BC.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 1:00 pm from Abbotsford Canadian Reformed Church,33947 King Rd, Abbotsford, BC; Reverend Clarence Bouman officiating.
