Lyle Oliver Moen

October 21, 1936 - March 24, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Lyle Oliver Moen announce his peaceful passing. Lyle will be dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Janice Moen aka "honeybun", step-children Debbie (Reid) O'Flaherty, Theresa Kelly, Dana Kelly, Leanne (Richard) Kerr and Michael (Catherine) Kelly.

He was incredibly proud of his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved them immensely.

Lyle was predeceased by his daughter Michelle in 1999.

Lyle was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan and was the 8th of 11 children born to Gudren and Jurgen Moen.

Lyle had a keen interest and incredible talent in music, playing in country bands as a young adult. "Mooney Jones" carried his love of music throughout his life, playing and singing in various bands and performing on karaoke nights.

He was a long-standing and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Lyle worked as an officer for BC Corrections in a number of correctional facilities, but primarily at Oakalla. He used to joke that he went to jail everyday.

Lyle was fun loving and personable, a good friend and loving husband, Dad and Grandpa.

Rest In Peace dear Dad, your family loves you and will miss you dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion #4, 9350 Mary Street, Chilliwack, BC on Saturday April 13th at 12:30pm.
