Lucille passed away peacefully at the Cascades Lodge in Chilliwack.
“Lucy” was the strength of our family, our moral compass. She had many lifelong friends.
Lucille was born in Winnipeg. She married Herb Varnes in 1948 and they moved to Chilliwack in 1954.
She was a secretary at Coqualeetza Hospital then spent her last working years as the secretary
At CFB United Church (All Sappers Chapel). Lucille was a long-time member of the Chilliwack Hospital Auxilliary and the Chilliwack hospital board and was Secretary of the Chwk Minor Hockey Association.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Lynne Ragan and Karen Wright (John Faulkner) and son Dave Varnes (Liz), her Grandchildren, Rheanna Sidhu (Kevin), Kate Robbie (Alan), Scott Ragan, Tara & Scott and her Great Grandchildren, Connor and Gavin.
Lucille loved to play piano and listen to music, enjoyed playing Bridge and watching sports. The legacy she leaves with her family is “to love each other and make the most of each day”.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Cascades Lodge.
A celebration of life will be held at Chilliwack United Church on Saturday, June 23rd at 2:00 pm.
